Virtual Coffee Date | July 2014
I feel like I just did one of these posts but I looked back and my last one was in April! The last thing I want to do in this heat is drink coffee (my go to for long drives this summer has been iced green tea from Starbucks haha) but just go with it.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that this week I started to get back into “training mode” with my workouts, the end goal being an early Spring 2015 race. By training mode, I don’t mean I’m following a training plan or even training.. but more just that I’m starting to be more intentional with my workouts. Plan them out with a purpose, have goals, keep track of mileage/weight, etc. My main goal is to avoid injury for said race and do that by building a solid base now. I’ve been really casual about my workouts, just working out for fun for the past few months so I’m excited to focus more on it again!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I FINALLY feel somewhat caught up after vacation. (It only took 3+ weeks!) I still have plenty to do but it no longer feels unmanageable. The jet lag has passed. The stack of papers at work have been processed. The emails have been replied to. Life has returned to normal. Few.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m completely hooked on learning to play the guitar. Honestly, I like it because it DOES NOT come easy to me. At all. I have to check my ego at the door every single week. I’m learning to how to fail over and over again but keep trying. It’s also been a really relaxing solo hobby that has kind of replaced photography in some respects. I try to practice even just 20 minutes a night before bed. Right now, I’m learning Wagon Wheel — one of my favs!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that the wedding inquiries have been pouring in this week, which leaves me feeling energized and optimistic! 2015 is going to be a GOOD year, my friends.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I feel like this post makes me sound overly excited about life haha so to balance it out, I’ll share that the positive attitude is not a result of everything going smoothly in my life (trust me.), but rather I’ve been choosing to focus on the good in every day. No matter how small. It’s not always easy and, like everyone, I have my moments.. but I’m getting there thanks to good friends, sleep, exercise and a little meditation.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m really excited for this weekend! Tonight we are celebrating the engagement of one of my best friends! Then tomorrow I’m going to the Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge, Jerrod Niemann concert. You might recall, seeing Keith Urban live is one of my 30 before 30 bucket list items! Ironically though, I think I’m most excited for Brett Eldredge : )
If we were having coffee today, what would you tell me?
