Looking Forward | Summer 2016

Hello, happy Friday! I feel like I’ve been sharing sooo many photo-filled posts lately so I wanted to switch it up and do something a little fun since it’s Friday : ) I haven’t written one of these posts in foreverrrr like, forever forever. (Hint: there was over 100 inches of snow on the ground at the time) I’ve got looking forward to summer on the brain these days so I figured I’d write a post about it.

Today, I’m looking forward to… going to yoga. I’ve been super into yoga these days and craving it daily. The more I go, the more I want to go. I’m noticing it’s benefits through all aspects of my life, from how I sit at my desk to how I sleep. I really want to get back to a place like I was at three years ago when yoga played a really key role in my life. Typically, I have a hard time going to yoga in the summer because of the heat so I’m going to try going to more unheated classes as the weather warms up. Random side note: I really want to try getting back into teaching again but the idea terrifies me.

This week, I’m looking forward to… putting my head down and doing the work. That might sound a little crazy but, just like the last few weeks have been, this next week will be about me just grinding it out and checking things off my to do list because come Memorial Day Weekend I will be all over the place and won’t be able to spend tons of time behind the computer! Because…

This month, I’m looking forward to… all-the-things! June is filled with double header wedding weekends, my 5-year college reunion (whaa?!), a good friend’s wedding in Virginia, a Cape Cod getaway (including a wedding!). I can’t even decide which one I’m most excited for : )

This Summer, I’m looking forward to… July 4th (my favorite holiday), a week in ICELAND (!!), more weddings and engagement shoots, traveling to new places, and splitting my free time between the Cape and NH. I’m looking forward to that light, care-free feeling that comes along with summer. Everyone’s always down to do something- no matter what day of the week. After dinner sunset walks late in the evening, floating in the water and hearing your breath echo, road trips to beachy coastal New England towns. Uhh I can’t wait.

This year, I’m looking forward to… seeing where I’m at with my business come December. It’s constantly growing and changing course as new, unexpected opportunities come my way- which can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. Sometimes I feel like I’m making no progress until I look backwards 6 months, a year or even 3 years. I’ve done a lot of reflecting the last couple months and I feel like I know what I want now more than ever and generally where I’m headed but I’m excited to see where I actually go!

  • […] for any Friday posts since let’s be honest, we’re all a little mentally tapped out by now. Caroline wrote a “looking forward to” post today and I love that idea so I’m combining it with the […]ReplyCancel

  • That’s awesome that you are going to Iceland! I haven’t done a big ‘out of the country’ kind of trip since December of 2013 so I am really overdue for one. But I’ve been waiting for to plan one when I have a better idea of what the coming year will hold. Hopefully we will go somewhere in late 2016 or early 2017, though!

I haven’t done a looking forward post in quite awhile either. Some things I’m looking forward to are BBQ’ing with friends this weekend, ditching my crutches in a little over a week/being more independent/self-sufficient, going to an out of town wedding on an island in Wisconsin in June, seeing my younger sister and her husband in July, and going to another out-of-town wedding over Labor Day weekend with a group of people that are so fun!ReplyCancel

Those all sound like great things to look forward to, too! I’m really excited for Iceland, but in the last couple of years I’ve become such a fan of short weekend trips away, or just small, fun get togethers with friends : )ReplyCancel

  • Ah you have an amazing summer ahead of you! Iceland!!! So jealous 🙂

I’m looking forward to our trip to Toronto on June 1, it will be a great trip with my brother and dad especially since my brother leaves from that trip to Germany for 3 months. Other than that I’m just looking forward to getting settled in our new city and spending lots of time with family.ReplyCancel

  • I don’t have too much going on this summer! I am hoping to take a girls trip to Asheville in August, but that depends on whether or not I’m moving in September! (Moving costs, ughhh)ReplyCancel
